With our launch of our Spring 2020 line we teamed up Albert Ayzenberg to create these amazing shots! Check out what he had to say below:
Can you tell us about yourself and how you got started in photography?
I was born in Chernovtsy, Ukraine and since I was a young boy I’ve been fascinated with photography. When we moved to the United States my parents bought a Canon Sure Shot Supreme. I had never seen such an wonderful camera. It blew my mind, and I started to shoot right away.
How would you describe your work to someone who has never seen it?
I'm a portrait, documentary, and fashion photographer. There is nothing better than capturing that one frame that tells a complete story. I feel passionate about storytelling and the opportunity to push creative boundaries. I try to bring unique vision and truth to each project. The key to powerful content is listening carefully to and finding common ground with the people in front of the camera.
Where do you get your creative inspiration from?
My two amazing daughters inspire me everyday. Love shooting them at the park, in my apartment, and just walking down the street. I see a location and I start shooting. I take my oldest daughter to many of my shoots. Give her a camera and she gets so creative with the shots. Everyone loves to have her on set.
How is it working as a NYC photographer? What are the biggest challenges of working in New York City?
The energy in New York is incredible! NYC is one of the best cities in the world for street/documentary photography. Working in NYC has it's challenges with hundreds of photographers trying to get jobs. All of us are photographers, 99% of us have a phone with a camera but the clients know what they like and who they want to work with.
What photographers from the past or present have influenced you the most?
What's the most important thing you want potential clients to know about you?
I love working and connecting with people. Making them feel amazing in front of my camera is what I am known for and also a safe set. There is nothing better than capturing that one frame that tells a complete story.
What was it like to shoot with one of our influencers Raquel?
Raquel is a professional! We shot 6 looks under 2 hours and it was 35 degrees out. Can't wait for our next shoot.
What do you like about Sonja by Sonja Morgan? Any favorite looks?
Sonja by Sonja Morgan is unbelievable. The colors pop and it's affordable clothing line. The Wrapped Up Maxi Dress and Jeanine Mini Dress are perfect to shoot.
Hope you enjoyed seeing Albert's work and hearing what he had to say.
